Q & A

How many events do you do?
It varies depending on what type of events I have booked. Smaller events like birthday parties and anniversary parties usually take a month to plan and orchestrate while a full service wedding can easily take a year to plan. I usually do not limit the amount of events I do each year, but I make sure to never double book events on the same day. I want to make sure I allow plenty of time to complete each event in the necessary time required and devote 100% to my clients.

Will you be in attendance at the rehearsal and ceremony? The Reception?
Yes. Regardless of the package that you choose (full service, partial service or day of) I will be at all three events pertaining to your wedding day.  I work with my client’s requests to make sure that the Rehearsal is orchestrated properly and itineraries will be created for the Rehearsal so that everyone involved knows their role for the Ceremony. I will also be present for the Ceremony and Reception to take care of all of the necessary details. I will make sure that all of the bridal party is informed of their duties, timelines will have been distributed and all vendors will have been contacted. The site(s) will be prepared for guests and the happy couple. Should issues arise, it is my job to make sure that they are addressed and handled properly.

My budget is limited. How in the world could I afford a planner?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions regarding a Wedding Coordinator. My services should be included as part of your budget, not in addition to your budget. One of the perks of having a wedding coordinator is that we have worked diligently to find the best vendors and venues to help you have your dream wedding, all within your budget. I pride myself on the vendors I choose to work with and have built working relationships with them to provide the best service for my client’s budget. I can actually save my clients money by utilizing my vendor contacts and making sure that my clients are not caught unaware of hidden fees in their vendor contracts.

What should I expect at the first consultation?
These are extremely casual meetings and I am just there to listen! I want to know the details you have planned for your big day. I need to know that style, formality, size, location, season, budget and so forth. I want to “see” your wedding and get to know on a personal level. It is important that you and your wedding coordinator have a trusting, open, and professional relationship. I will also answer any questions you have regarding my services and expertise, whatever you would like to ask.

What sets you apart from other wedding planners? Are there any additional services you provide?
I want to provide the best customer service for my clients. I want your engagement and event planning process to be memorable, fun, and enjoyable! Aside from providing great customer service to my clients, I provide great direction for the newly engaged couple on how to begin, organize, and orchestrate the planning process; I will provide the “road map” for your big day. My trusting contacts with vendors have allowed me to work with brides on almost any budget to create a wonderful, fun, and memorable day. I also support the working bride extremely well by offering tips, timelines and assistance on taking care of the “To Do” list for her.

I do offer A La Carte services that can be added to any of my packages. You may have most of the planning done and only need my “day of” coordination services, but would like for me to help with a seating chart or may want me to provide a candy buffet to a wedding shower, or just need a jump start on timelines and vendor recommendations. Whatever the need I will customize your package so that it works for you and your planning stage.

Is there a charge for the initial consultation?
No. I am available for one hour to meet with you and hear what you have envisioned for your wedding. I want to get to know you on a personal level and discover which service(s) you need for your planning process.

Will you attend all of my vendor meetings?
If you select the full planning service I will attend all of your vendor meetings with you or for you (based on what we have discussed). It can be arranged that I attend vendor meetings with you if you select another coordination package. I will converse with all of the hired vendors prior to your wedding day to distribute itineraries and discuss their and my duties at the Ceremony and Reception.

When should I book with A Party to Perfection?
If you are requesting my services for full wedding coordination services, it is recommended that you book atleast one year in advance and up to seventeen months prior to your date. You can book your event with me anytime during your planning process, but additional charges may apply for short deadlines. If you request my services for your “day of” then I appreciate atleast eight weeks notice prior to your wedding date.

What credentials do you have?
Aside from three other degrees, I have completion certificates in two other event planning courses and am one course away from my “Professional Bridal Consultant” certification which is recognized by the Association of Bridal Consultants. Along with this certification, I must continue Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses to maintain membership status with the Association of Bridal Consultants.
